Almost ready...

I made doors today.

My colleague has brought two horses and they were just perfect size for stables. :)

Tänään tein ovia.

Työkaverini oli tuonut pari hevosta ja ne olivat täsmälleen oikean kokoisia talleihin. :)

Like you see I have actually made two stables. :)

Tomorrow I will make door knobs. And then I'm going to test some paint to find a good colour shade.

Kuten näet, olen tehnyt kaksi tallia. :)

Huomenna teen oviin rivat. Ja sitten testailen maaleja löytääkseni hyvän värinsävyn.

Log house project is progressing/ Hirsitalo projekti etenee

I made miniature shingles and used hot-setting adhesive to set them to the roof.

Tein minipäreitä ja kiinnitin niitä kuumaliimalla kattoon.

It takes lot of time but looks nice when it's ready. :)

Siinä menee aikaa mutta näyttää kivalta valmiina. :)

There are only few bigger elements in this project; gables, roof and doors with frames.

Logs are loose.

Aitassa on vain muutama isompi elementti; päätykolmiot, katto sekä ovet karmeineen.

Hirret ovat irrallisia.

Log barn/horse stable Hirsinen hevostalli

I'm working at the Northern Ostrobothnia Museum. I was asked to make a miniature of this horse stable. The real one is at Turkansaari Open air Museum in Oulu.

You should definitely visit that place. :) It's like a totally different world

and still so close to the city.

Työskentelen Pohjois-Pohjanmaan museossa. Minua pyydettiin tekemään pienoismalli tästä tallirakennuksesta, joka sijaitsee Turkansaaren ulkomuseossa Oulussa.

Sinun täytyisi ehdottomasti vierailla tässä paikassa. :) Se on ihan oma maailmansa ja kuitenkin ihan lähellä kaupunkia.

In the beginning I had to draw and plan and take measures. Then I started to saw "logs". :)

And size is huge!! :D

Alussa piirsin ja suunnittelin ja mittasin. Sitten aloitin "hirsien" sahaamisen. :)

Hirsien koko on valtava!! :D

There is still a lot to do.... But I like this! :)

The final ready made miniature will be part of the Forest Exhibition (metsänäyttely) during next spring. But this is going to be at children playing area where they can build and dissemble it over and over again. And of course I will prepare a clear step by step insructions. :)

Paljon on vielä tekemistä... mutta tykkään tästä! :)

Valmis pienoismalli tulee museon Metsänäyttelyyn ensi keväänä. Tämä tulee lasten puuhanurkkaan, jossa lapset rakentaa ja purkaa sen uudelleen ja uudelleen. Tottakai teen selkeät askel-askeleelta-kokoamisohjeet myös. :)
